Ways to Support

Are you passionate about helping those affected by cancer in our communities?  We are always looking for dedicated volunteers of high school age and older to help with various tasks.  Volunteers help us make sure that all funds raised can go back to serving our community.

Volunteering
CURRENT NEEDS

Medical Appointment Drivers

CCS is seeking volunteer drivers to assist community members with transport to doctor appointments and medical treatments.  You must have a clean driving record, current Idaho Drivers License, reliable vehicle and personal automobile insurance.  Needs are for transport from various locations in Bonner and Boundary County, to medical clinics in Sandpoint, Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, and Spokane.  Most appointments are during the day on week days.  CCS provides gas vouchers.

Passionate  Community Members

We are seeking individuals and organizations to join community cancer services in support of local cancer patients and their families.  We always need help with planning, setup and serving at our two major CCS fund raising events, held each year in April and November.  Other needs throughout the year include assisting with office tasks, community outreach, and fundraising.

  • We are seeking volunteers to assist with website maintenance and our social media presence.

  • We can use help with any of the following items (Clean & in good condition please):

    • We are happy to take in no longer needed items such as wheelchairs, lift chairs, walkers, shower chairs, and canes.

    • We have items we give to our clients when they come in to visit that include, non-perishable nutritious food items, bottled water, blank journal books, and other items for day-to-day needs that they may struggle to find the funds for as they are going through treatment.

    • Blank note cards, thank you cards, and postage stamps.

    • We give out $25 cards to Walmart and Super 1 for our clients to shop.

    • Our major self-produced fundraiser is in November and we need auction items and sponsors. Stay tuned for how this will look in the age of Coronavirus.

    • And of course, monetary donations are always welcome and needed to keep us going.
